Superior native, RoughRiders, Monarch grad Wasik collects weekly Atlantic Hockey award
Air Force junior Dominik Wasik has been named the Atlantic Hockey America Goaltender of the Week.
Wasik, from Superior, allowed just two goals in 51 shots in the series sweep over Sacred Heart for a .961 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average.
Wasik earned his second career shutout by making 21 saves in the 2-0 win over Sacred Heart on Jan. 31. In four wins over Sacred Heart this season, he has a 1.25 GAA and a .957 saves percentage. He has made 21 straight starts and ranks fifth in the league in GAA (2.45) and sixth in saves percentage (.910).
The weekly award is the third for Wasik this season and in his career.
Back in Colorado, Wasik played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and Monarch High School.
