Golden native, Evolution alum Niewiarowicz picks up weekly EHL accolades
The EHL has announced that Connecticut RoughRiders goaltender Daniel Niewiarowicz is one of the Top Performers for Week No. 19.
Niewiarowicz, a 2002-born native of Golden, got the nod for the matchup against the New Jersey 87’s, and he simply didn’t disappoint en route to turning aside 54 of the 55 total shots that he faced. The near-perfect performance led to the start against the Philadelphia Hockey Club as well, where he made another 41 saves on 43 saves.
The phenomenal two-game stretch improved the second-year goalie’s record up to 8-9-3 for the season, to go along with a 3.22 GAA and a .923 save percentage.
The RoughRiders are one of three teams in the Central Division that are tied for second place with 27 points.
During his youth hockey days, Niewiarowicz played for the Colorado Evolution.
