Eagles’ Houck selected ECHL Player of the Week after five-point weekend
Jackson Houck of the Colorado Eagles is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 13-19.
Houck scored four goals and added one assist for five points as the Eagles swept a three-game series at Alaska last week to extend their club-record winning streak to 12 games.
The 22-year-old picked up an assist in a 4-3 win on Friday, recorded his first professional hat trick in a 6-2 victory on Saturday and tallied the game-winning goal in a 4-1 win on Sunday.
A native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Houck has 12 points (10g-2a) in 26 games with Colorado. He has tallied one assist in 10 career American Hockey League games with Oklahoma City and San Antonio.
Prior to turning pro, Houck recorded 242 points (107g-135a) in 312 career games in the Western Hockey League with Vancouver and Calgary.
On behalf of Houck, a case of pucks will be donated to a Colorado youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
