The Eastern Hockey League has announced that Union Jr. Thunder goaltender Gavin Gray is a Mid-Atlantic Premier Division Star of the Week.

The Jr. Thunder earned a big win, thanks some heroics in goal.

Gray, an ’07 from Westhaven, shut out the New Jersey Bears in an intense matchup, turning aside 34 shots last Saturday night.

Not only is this Gray’s first year with the Thunder, it is also his first shutout of the season as they defeated the Bears 1-0.

Gray’s efforts help keep the Thunder in second place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

The Thunder return to action this upcoming Saturday against the Atlantic City Seals.

Back in Utah, Gray played for the Utah Golden Eagles and Northern Utah Independent High School.
