Quartet of Colorado connections bag weekly honors from NCDC, USPHL
The NCDC and USPHL have announced their players of the week, with four coming from Colorado.
Pueblo Bulls goalie Noel Friedman is the NCDC Mountain Division Goaltender of the Week, Bulls forward Gavin Barr is the NCDC Mountain Rookie of the Week, Bremerton Sockeyes forward Thomas Hickey is the USPHL Northwest Division Forward of the Week, and Bold City Battalion netminder Evan Stringer is the USPHL Florida Premier Division Goaltender of the Week.
Friedman (‘05/Denver) registered 28 saves on 29 shots to earn a big win against the Utah Outliers. He remains undefeated over his five appearances with the Bulls this year.
Back home, Friedman played for the Denver Jr. Pioneers and at Denver East High School.
Barr (‘05/Colorado Springs) registered a hat trick and added an assist during the Bulls’ win on Jan. 31 against Utah. He also had an assist on Jan. 30 for a four-point weekend. He has 20 points in 35 games this year, his first in the NCDC.
In Colorado, Barr skated for the Colorado Rampage and Krivo School of Hockey Elite.
Hickey (‘05/Tempe, Ariz.) recently registered four goals and added three assists for seven points over a recent three-game stretch. He has improved his totals to 26 points in 29 games this year.
During his youth hockey days, Hickey spent time with the Colorado Springs Tigers.
Stringer (‘05/Fort Collins) won two games against the Florida Eels by stopping 65 of the 68 shots he faced during the three-game series. The third-year Premier veteran improved his season record to 12-7-1-0, already matching his previous season best for wins. He is 35-18-5-1 over three years with a .913 save percentage, with his 35 wins placing him in the top 20 all time.
Prior to the USPHL, Stringer played for the Colorado Jr. Eagles and Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.
