NA3HL announces 2021 Fraser Cup, Top Prospects, draft events

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) has announced the dates and location for the 2021 Fraser Cup Playoffs and Championship, the 2021 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, and the 2021 NA3HL Draft.

The 2021 Fraser Cup Championship, which crowns the national playoff champion of the NA3HL, will take place at the St. Peters Rec Plex in St. Peters, Missouri from April 15-19. The 2021 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament will also take place at the St. Peters Rec Plex in St. Peters, Missouri, on April 18-19. The 2021 NA3HL Draft will be held online at na3hl.com and live on HockeyTV on Wednesday, April 28 at 3 p.m. Central.

NA3HL Divisional Playoffs

Division Semifinals (April 1-4): The top four teams in each division qualify for playoff competition. The club seeded first in each division will compete in a best-of-three series with the fourth-seeded club in the same division. The first club to win two games in a division semifinal series will be declared the winner of the series and advance to the next round of playoff competition.

Division Finals (April 8-11): The two clubs in each division that won a division semifinal series shall compete in a best-of-three series against each other in the division finals. The first club to win two games in a division final series will be declared the winner of the series and advance to the Fraser Cup Championship Tournament.

Fraser Cup Championship Tournament

The five divisional playoff champions along with one wild card team will advance to the NA3HL Fraser Cup Championship Tournament, where they will play a two- game round-robin format followed by a semifinal and a championship game at the St. Peters Rec Plex in St. Peters, Missouri, from April 15-19.

The five divisional playoff winners will be seeded 1-5 based on their regular season point totals. The wild card team that will be seeded sixth will be the team with the highest winning percentage to lose in the division finals. A round-robin format with two pools will be implemented, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the semifinals, where they will then cross over to play the other top two teams from the other pool. The winners of the semifinals will advance to the Fraser Cup championship game.

The Fraser Cup is named in the memory of Robert ‘Fraser’ Ritchie, a long-time staff member of the NAHL, NA3HL and NAPHL. On June 10, 2017, Ritchie passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Although Ritchie ultimately lost his battle with the disease, his influence and daily interactions with all of the owners, coaches, staff, volunteers and administrators in the NAHL, NA3HL and NAPHL, will never be forgotten, and are now and forever memorialized with the annual awarding of the Fraser Cup.

NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament

NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament will also take place at the St. Peters Rec Plex in St. Peters, Missouri, on April 18-19 in cooperation with the Fraser Cup. There will be four NA3HL Top Prospects teams who each play in two games during the event. Each NA3HL Top Prospects team will consist of a 22-man roster (12 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies). Any player who will be considered for the event, must be nominated by their respective head coaches and must not be on a team competing in the Fraser Cup.
