Arvada, Boulder, Thunderbirds alum, Arvada native Poulsen re-signs with ECHL’s Oilers for ’26-27

 

The ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers have announced the re-signing of veteran forward Tyler Poulsen for the 2026-27 season.

Poulsen, 33, returns to the Oilers roster having played 240 games, compiling 143 points (63 goals, 80 assists) over five seasons in Tulsa.

The Arvada native recorded his career highs in goals, points, assists and penalty minutes during his multi-season tenure, reaching the 40-point mark twice in his five seasons in Tulsa.

He turned pro with the Allen Americans in 2018-19 and has collected 208 points (98 goals, 110 assists) in 380 ECHL games split among Allen, Rapid City, Worcester, and Tulsa. 

Prior to turning pro, Poulsen played three seasons with NCAA Division I Alabama-Huntsville, logging 38 points (15 goals, 23 assists) in 88 games, leading the team with 17 assists in 2017-18. 

Back home, Poulsen skated for the Arvada Hockey Association, Boulder Bison and Colorado Thunderbirds.
