Providence native, Cache Valley grad Wallin nets weekly UCHC honors
The UCHC has announced that King’s freshman defenseman Brighton Wallin is the UCHC Women’s Co-Rookie of the Week.
Wallin was a force on the offensive end, tallying four goals and two assists as King’s picked up a weekend sweep over Hilbert.
In the first game of the series on Friday, she tallied two goals, scoring twice in the third period to put away Hilbert in a 7-0 win.
On Saturday, Wallin followed up her two-goal performance by setting the program record with four points in a game, on two goals and two assists.
Late in the first period, Wallin picked up an assist on the opening goal of the game before taking matters into her own hands, going top shelf to extend the Monarchs lead to 2-0 heading into the second period. Early in the second period, Wallin found the net once again, putting King’s up 3-0, before adding her second assist of the game late in the third period, as King’s defeated Hilbert 8-1.
In Utah, the Providence native played high school hockey for the Cache Valley Wild.
