Pair of Colorado natives, Eagles standouts earns weekly accolades from USPHL
The USPHL has announced that a pair of Colorado natives and Northern Colorado Eagles standouts are weekly award winners for the Mountain Division.
Javen Heidergott is the division’s Forward of the Week and Nate Jaramillo is the Defenseman of the Week.
Heidergott, a 2002-born Telluride product, stepped up in the scoring column, pacing the Eagles with six points (2-4-6) in three games against the Ogden Mustangs last weekend. With the six points, Heidergott improves to 20 points (6-14-20) in 20 games and is on pace to set a career-high in points.
When Heidergott finds the scoresheet, the Eagles find the win column; NoCo is 8-1-1 in games that Heidergott records at least a point.
During his youth hockey days, Heidergott played for the Telluride Lizard Heads.
Earlier in the season, Jaramillo moved back to a brand-new position to help ease the burden of the injury bug for the Eagles. His game hasn’t looked back on either side of the puck as the 2004-born Broomfield native had four assists in three games vs. Ogden last weekend, improving to seven points (1-6-7) on the year.
He also played another perfect 68 minutes without taking a penalty, too. Jaramillo has played 185 minutes as a defenseman and is yet to commit a penalty.
Back home, Jaramillo played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders, Hyland Hills Jaguars, and Monarch High School.
