Graber, Shatzer decide on Dartmouth College
Longmont’s Will Graber has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Dartmouth College following his United States Hockey League (USHL) career.
A forward, Graber has dished out five assists, recorded 30 penalty minutes and is a plus-2 over 26 games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks since being acquired by the team in December from the Sioux Falls Stampede.
“I really like the feel of what Dartmouth was all about in terms of its hockey facilities, and the fact that they’re one of the best academic schools in the country,” said Graber. “The coaching staff is a great group of guys that are similar to the Lumberjacks’ coaches when it comes to going about their jobs in a professional manner.”
In Colorado, Graber grew up playing for Boulder Hockey Club, the Colorado Thunderbirds and Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.
Grabner produced 10 points (four goals) in 20 games for Sioux Falls to begin the season. The 18-year-old got his first taste of the USHL last year, playing 19 games for the Stampede.
Goaltender Dean Shatzer, another former RoughRider, also recently committed to Dartmouth. The Castle Rock native is stopping pucks this season at Indiana’s Culver Academy.
