Colorado natives German, Dolan pin down weekly honors from USPHL
The USPHL has announced its players of the week, with a pair of Colorado products taking home the honors.
Northern Cyclones blueliner Alex German is the NCDC North Division Defenseman of the Week, while Motor City Gamblers netminder Larkin Dolan is the Midwest East Premier Goaltender of the Week.
German, a 2004 birth year out of Colorado Springs, pushed his way from spending half the 2021-22 season with the Cyclones USPHL 18U team and the other half with the NCDC squad. Now, he’s a mainstay of the NCDC blueline, one that has pushed the Cyclones to the division’s best winning percentage (.739).
Over the last couple games, the Cyclones went 1-0-1 as German posted a 1-2-3 line and a plus-3 rating.
Back home, German played for the Colorado Rampage.
Dolan recorded his second-career #ShutoutShoutout on Saturday, helping Motor City defeat the Chicago Cougars for the first time since 2019. The 2002 product from Boulder stopped all 26 Cougar shots he saw during the 3-0 victory at Big Boy Arena.
Dolan and the Gamblers’ defense have been lights-out as of late, as it’s been over 120 game minutes since he last conceded a goal.
During his youth hockey days, Dolan played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and Colorado Thunderbirds.
