Superior native, Air Force goalie Wasik takes home weekly Atlantic Hockey America award
Air Force junior Dominik Wasik has been named Atlantic Hockey America Goaltender of the Week after helping lead the Falcons to a sweep at Sacred Heart last weekend.
Wasik stopped 63 of 66 shots in the series for a .955 save percentage and a 1.50 GAA.
In game one, he matched his previous career high of 28 saves. The only goal he allowed in the first game was on the power play with 1:40 left in the game that broke up the shutout.
The junior from Superior set a new career high with 35 saves in game two. He stopped all 16 shots he faced in the second period, allowing the Falcons to come from behind twice for the 3-2 win.
The weekly award for Wasik is the first of his career.
Back in Colorado, Wasik played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and Monarch High School.
