Air Force sophomore Shane Starrett was named the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Conference Goalie of the Week as he helped lead the Falcons to a sweep over Niagara Dec. 9-10.
Starrett, from Bellingham, Mass., stopped 38 of the 39 shots he faced in the series for an .050 goals-against average and a .974 save percentage.
In the first game, Starrett made 19 saves, including the last 15 he faced, in a 2-1 Falcon win. On Saturday, Starrett earned his fifth career shutout as he stopped all 19 shots he faced in the 4-0 win.
On the season, he ranks fourth in the conference in save percentage (.916) and goals-against average (2.51).
The player of the week honor is the seventh of his career.
Air Force (9-6-3 and 6-3-1 AHC) is idle until a two-game league series at Sacred Heart Dec. 30-31 in Bridgeport, Conn.
