Niagara University freshman forward Shane Ott has been named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Ott scored twice in the Purple Eagles’ win over Bentley Friday night. Ott’s empty-netter with three minutes left in the third proved to be the game-winner over the Falcons. The game was his first multi-goal game of the season.

The Centennial native finished the weekend with two goals, two points, three shots on goal, and 10 faceoff wins.

On the season, Ott has six goals and seven assists for 13 points. He now has four games with multiple points this season, including Friday’s game at Bentley.

During his youth hockey career, Ott played for the Littleton Hawks and for Regis Jesuit High School.
