Rampage grad Cosentino nabs weekly AHA college hockey accolades
Atlantic Hockey America has announced that Air Force senior Clayton Cosentino is the AHA Forward of the Week.
Cosentino, a center from San Carlos, Calif., who played youth hockey with the Colorado Rampage, had four points (3-1-4) as the Falcons split with Arizona State, while also winning 27 faceoffs and blocking a pair of shots.
The senior captain matched his career high with two goals and three points in the 4-3 overtime win in the series finale. Cosentino’s first goal of the game tied the game at 2-2 in the second period. Trailing 3-2 in the final 30 seconds, Air Force pulled the goalie and Cosentino assisted on the game-tying goal to force overtime. In the extra frame, he scored the power-play game-winner as the Falcons earned their first win of the season.
The nation’s leader in faceoff wins in 2023-24, Cosentino won 63 percent of his faceoffs in the ASU series.
This weekly award is the second of his career (Rookie of the Week as a freshman) and his first time as the Forward of the Week.
