Parker native, Air Force recruit Schwartz garners weekly recognition from NAHL

The NAHL announced today that Bismarck Bobcats forward Austin Schwartz is the Central Division Star of the Week.

Schwartz, the 19-year-old captain of the Bobcats, played a key role this past weekend as the team continued its hot stretch of play with a home sweep of the Minnesota Wilderness.

“Austin had a great weekend for us,” said Bismarck head coach Layne Sedevie. “He is the leader of this team for a reason and it’s nice to see him get rewarded for his effort. His work ethic is at the forefront of his game and that is why he is our most consistent player every night.”

The Parker native was plus-2 in the wins with some timely scoring.

On Friday, the Air Force Academy recruit scored the game-winner in the first period in a 5-1 win. On Saturday, he added another first-period goal, which again would stand as the game-winner in a 4-1 win.

For the season, Schwartz has 21 points (nine goals, 12 assisst) in 36 games.

During his youth career, Schwartz played for the Arapahoe Warriors and Colorado Thunderbirds.
