Okanagan Hockey Colorado national champ Anaka inks WHL deal with Hitmen

The WHL’s Calgary Hitmen have signed 2009-born forward Grady Anaka.

The Hitmen listed Anaka in the spring of 2025 and the forward from Sherwood Park, Alta., played the last two seasons with Okanagan Hockey Colorado, finishing the 2025-26 season at over a point per game with 26 goals and 30 assists for 56 points in 41 games.

Anaka was integral in his team winning the 2026 USA Hockey Tier I 16U national championship, finishing the tournament with eight points (two goals, six assists) in six games.

“We are excited that Grady has chosen to come back to Alberta to start his junior hockey career,” said Hitmen GM Cass Bruni. “He had an outstanding season with Okanagan Colorado and was an impactful player for a team that won a national championship. He is a smart, two-way centerman that has a bright future in our league.”

Also in Colorado, Anaka played for the Colorado Thunderbirds.
