‘High-character, team-first’ Grit standout Reyelts heading home with NCAA D-III St. Scholastica commitment

For Colorado Grit forward Kennan Reyelts, playing in the NAHL has led to the Minnesota native heading back to the Land of 10,000 Lakes for college hockey.

Reyelts, a native of Proctor, Minn., recently committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the College of St. Scholastica, a MIAC school located in Duluth, Minn.

“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play hockey at the College of St. Scholastica next year,” said Reyelts. “I’d like to thank my family as well as all of my teammates and coaches who have helped me throughout my hockey career. I’m excited about the opportunity for next year and am looking forward to a great finish to the season in Colorado as we push for the playoffs and beyond.”

In his first season with the Grit, Reyelts currently has three goals and three assists in 33 games. After playing in the NA3HL last season with New Mexico Ice Wolves, Reyelts came to the Grit early on in the 2024-25 season and instantly found a home in Greeley, helping to build on the Grit culture.

“This is a great time for Kennan,” said Grit head coach Kevin Holmstrom. “We are all very happy for him and all the work he puts in every day. Kennan truly loves the daily preparation and the work that goes into the daily grind. He plays with so much emotion and he impacts our team on and off the ice. He is a high-character, team-first young man that will be highly successful at the next level.

“He will be a great asset to the staff and team at St. Scholastica and wish him the very best.”
