Colorado quartet, Bighorns teammates named to NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament
The NA3HL has announced the rosters for the 2022 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, which will be held from February 7-8, 2022 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pa.
The NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament is played in conjunction with the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. The event is one of the most highly-scouted events of its kind, with hundreds of junior, NCAA and NHL again expected in attendance this season.
Among the players chosen are Colorado natives and Helena Bighorns teammates Eric Buchholz (Peyton), Sam Feamster (Pueblo), Tylor Greene (Colorado Springs) and Taber Gutschick (Colorado Springs).
All four were also teammates with the Colorado Springs Tigers. Feamster and Greene are forwards, Gutschick a defenseman and Buchholz a goalie.
Buchholz also played for Doherty High School and Feamster for the Pueblo Panthers.
Utah native Tyler Fisher (Park City, Long Beach Sharks defenseman) was also named to the event. He played for Park City High School and with the Park City Ice Miners and West Coast Renegades.
The NA3HL standings were frozen on Monday, January 10. Teams were then seeded within their division based on win percentage. The number of players each NA3HL team is sending to the event was based on each team’s winning percentage within their group.
A total of 88 players from the NA3HL will be spread amongst four teams, who will play in two games each during the event. Each team will consist of a 22-man roster (13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies). Any player who was considered for the event must have been first nominated by their respective head coaches.
