Colorado products Sandquist, Peck, McCormack garner weekly NCDC, USPHL honors
The NCDC and USPHL have announced their weekly awards and a trio of Colorado natives earned the honors this week.
Utica Jr. Comets defenseman Anderson Sandquist is the NCDC New England Division Rookie of the Week, while Pueblo Bulls goalie Devin Peck is the NCDC Mountain Division Goaltender of the Week and Hampton Roads Whalers blueliner Jacob McCormack is the Southeast Premier Division Defenseman of the Week.
Sandquist (‘05/Evergreen) added one goal and two assists to his name. The Jr. Comets rookie has six points over nine games in his first NCDC season. The blueliner has a three-game point streak that began on Jan. 11.
Back home, Sandquist skated for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.
Peck (‘05, Colorado Springs) was a great asset to the Bulls last week, going 2-0, including a 36-save shutout on Jan. 17. The rookie goaltender has a .912 save percentage in his inaugural NCDC season and is 12-8-0-1 overall.
In Colorado, Peck played for the Jr. Falcons, Colorado Springs Tigers and Colorado Rampage.
McCormack (‘06/Vail) put up a 1-2-3 line during the Whalers’ recent series against Carolina, improving his points total to 12 points. He registered four points in 12 games, and he was also a regular with the Elite squad – a great example of “USPHL Advancement In Action.”
Prior to the USPHL, McCormack played for the Tigers and Vail Mountaineers.
