Colorado high school products Hall, Herz take home weekly USPHL honors

The USPHL has announced its players of the week and a pair of Colorado products earned weekly honors.

Decatur Blaze goalie Zack Hall is the Midwest East Division Goaltender of the Week, while Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights defenseman Simon Herz is the Atlantic West Division Defenseman of the Week.

Hall, a 2003 birth year from Erie, earned two wins in a row for the second time this season, with 39 saves on a combined 41 shots to beat the Motor City Hockey Club.

Back home, Hall played for Centaurus High School.

Herz, an ’01 from Parker, earns another weekly nod as he posted a goal and an assist in a three-point weekend for the Knights. He took an even rating in a week that was big for the Knights and New York Aviators’ offenses, while also blocking two shots. All five of his shots taken for the weekend were on goal, and four of those were on the power play.

During his youth hockey career, Herz skated for the Colorado Evolution and for Chaparral High School.
