AHL’s Phantoms add Salt Lake City native, Rampage alum Metcalf to roster on professional tryout deal
The AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms announced today that they have signed goalie Garrett Metcalf to a PTO (professional tryout).
Metcalf, 25, arrives from the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL where he has played in five games this season, going 2-2-1, with a 1.84 GAA and a .932 save percentage.
He played for three NCAA Division I schools during his collegiate career from 2016-21 suiting up for UMass Lowell, Mercyhurst University and Long Island University.
The Salt Lake City native was originally a sixth-round selection (179th overall) of the Anaheim Ducks in 2015.
During his youth hockey days, Metcalf played for the Colorado Rampage.
