Okanagan Hockey Colorado star Wilmot sets course for future, signs with WHL’s Giants

Spencer Wilmot is averaging better than a point per game this season with the Okanagan Hockey Colorado 15U AAA team.

Through 15 games, the Idaho native has tallied 11 goals and seven assists for 18 points.

Over the summer, Wilmot signed with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants for his future junior hockey club.

“We’re excited to announce the signing of Spencer to a WHL scholarship and development agreement,” Giants head coach and general manager Michael Dyck said. “Spencer is a good, two-way forward who plays fast and has the ability to make plays. We are looking forward to having him join the organization.”

“I am very excited to start my journey with the Vancouver Giants,” Wilmot added. “I would like to thank my family for sacrificing as much as they do for me to play hockey and thank Darrell Hay for making me the player I am today. I can’t wait to get started with the Giants.”

A 2011 birth year, Wilmot was selected by the Giants in the third round (65th overall) of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.

Wilmot led Okanagan Hockey Colorado’s 14U AAA team with 62 points (31 goals, 31 assists) in 43 games last season.

He also had a standout John Reid Memorial Tournament in January, where he tallied five goals and eight points in five games, including a hat trick in the final game. He was also invited to attend USA Hockey’s Boys National 15U Camp during the summer.
