The BCHL’s 1st Star of the Week is forward Jordan Tran of the Powell River Kings.

Tran tied for the league lead in points last week with six in two games on two goals and four helpers.

The 17-year-old who won a national championship last season with Okanagan Hockey Colorado piled up a goal and three assists on Friday in Powell River’s 5-2 road win over the Spruce Grove Saints. Tran had two assists in the first period, including one on the power play, before adding a goal with the man advantage and another helper in the middle frame.

The next night, he had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

Tran now has 13 points in nine games to sit fourth in league scoring.
