Colorado natives Knott, Kuzmich bag weekly EHLP honors to open 2026-27 season
The Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) have announced Week 1 Stars of the Week, running September 24-27, and a pair of Colorado natives earned EHLP honors.
Atlantic City Seals forward Kody Knott (Denver) earned the award for the Mid-Atlantic Conference and Seahawks Hockey Club forward Brayden Kuzmich (Thornton) did the same for the Northeast Conference.
After a remarkable inaugural season that ended at regionals, the Atlantic City Seals began the journey back with a 5-3 win over the Union Jr. Thunder. Knott, a newcomer, recorded a three-point day, which included the game winner in a tight affair.
Back home, Knott skated for the Glenwood Springs Grizzlies and Caprock Academy.
With a fresh face on the Seahawks Hockey Club EHLP team, Kuzmich, a returner, came up big in their opener. He scored a pair of goals, including the game winner, against Northeast Conference rival Express Hockey Club.
In Colorado, Kuzmich played for Standley Lake High School.
