Colorado College goalie, Aspen native Mbereko signs pro deal with ECHL’s Cyclones
Colorado College senior goaltender Kaidan Mbereko has signed a standard player contract with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Cincinnati is the ECHL affiliate of the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs.
Mbereko is one of the most decorated goalies in program history. He finished his career at Colorado College ranked No. 1 with 128 games played by a goalie, No. 2 with a .915 save percentage and No. 3 with 57 wins and 3,298 saves.
The Aspen product was a first-team All-America selection and the unanimous selection as NCHC Goaltender of the Year in 2023-24 after leading CC to a 21-13-3 record, tying for second in the NCHC with 21 wins, the most by a Tiger goalie since Richard Bachman had 25 in 2007-08.
Mbereko, who will graduate from Colorado College in May with a degree in business, economics and society, is a four-time member of the NCHC all-academic team and twice named a distinguished scholar-athlete by the conference.
During his youth hockey days, Mbereko played for the Aspen Leafs and Rocky Mountain Snow Kings.
