Colorado natives Kaufman, Warfield garner weekly EHL awards

A pair of Colorado natives has earned weekly EHL honors.

Seahawks Hockey Club goaltender Nick Kaufman and New Hampshire Avalanche defenseman Max Warfield are two of the EHLP Northeast Conference Stars of the Week.

Make it eight straight wins for the Seahawks, who have now leaped into second place in the Northeast Conference. This past week featured a pair of wins, including a shutout for Kaufman. The ’06 from Castle Rock’s first donut of the season came in a 32-save performance against the Express Hockey Club. Kaufman now has a .923 save percentage and seven wins on the year in nine games played.

Back home, Kaufman played for Castle View High School.

The Avalanche got some production from their back end, courtesy of three points from the 2007-born Warfield. A returner for New Hampshire, he has now matched his goal total from last season. He scored a goal in each of their wins this past week and added an assist against the Express Hockey Club as well. Warfield has also played in seven EHL games this season.

In Colorado, the Arvada native skated for the Arvada Hockey Club, Littleton Hawks and Ralston Valley High School.
