Garrett Metcalf of the Utah Grizzlies has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Oct. 19-22.

It is the second time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.

Metcalf, who is under contract to the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, stopped all 35 shots he faced on Sunday in a 1-0 win over the Tulsa Oilers to record the only shutout during the opening week of the ECHL season.

A native of Salt Lake City, Metcalf has appeared in 33 career games with Utah going 16-11-2 with one shutout, a 2.98 goals-against average and a save percentage of .908.

He has posted a 3-5-1 record in nine AHL appearances with the San Diego Gulls and Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

During his youth hockey days, Metcalf played for the Colorado Rampage.
