Longmont’s Allen, Fort Collins’ Jordan named weekly USPHL award winners

A pair of Colorado products have earned weekly honors from the USPHL.

Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings goaltender Riley Allen is the Midwest West Division Goaltender of the Week, while Richmond Generals forward Carter Jordan is the Southeast Division Forward of the Week.

ALLEN

Allen, a Longmont native, was almost unbeatable in his three games at the Islanders Hockey Club Showcase. He started out with a 31-save shutout against the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes and then posted a 25-save plus three shootout shots in a 2-1 victory against Twin City. He also made 27 saves in his only loss, a 1-0 defeat against the Bridgewater Bandits, who won with 38 seconds left in overtime.

Overall, Allen is 8-3 on the season with a 2.09 goals-against average, a .926 save percentage and two shutouts.

As a youth, Allen played for the Littleton Hockey Association and Colorado Thunderbirds and for Dakota Ridge High School.

A second-year General, Jordan, a Fort Collins native, racked up an amazing two goals and four assists in the Gens’ sweep of the Hampton Roads Whalers that helped the team move up into third place and out of fourth. This included a 1-3-4 line in the opening 6-3 victory.

Jordan (pictured top) now has 20 (seven goals, 13 assists) points in 17 games.

During his youth hockey days, Jordan skated for the NCYH Jr. Eagles and Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.
