Grizzlies coach-GM Branham leaves post with ECHL club for assistant coach position with AHL’s Eagles

Utah Grizzlies head coach and general manager Tim Branham is leaving the team to become an assistant coach with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles.

Branham is the winningest and longest tenured head coach in Grizzlies history, compiling 284 victories over eight seasons in Utah. The Grizzlies reached the playoffs in six of the seven seasons where a postseason was held and was on pace to reach the playoffs in the 2019-20 season that was canceled due to the pandemic.

The Grizzlies were a consistent winner in the league with Branham leading the way as Utah had a .570 winning percentage during his time behind the bench. Utah finished with a .549 winning percentage or better in seven of his eight seasons, including a .637 winning percentage in the 2019-20 season, which was the best single-season percentage in team history.
