Greeley native, Resurrection, Eagles grad McFarland bags weekly NE-10 award
Saint Michael’s College junior forward Brennan McFarland has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week.
McFarland scored four goals, including two overtime winners, in the Purple Knights’ 2-0 weekend with Post. He also went plus-2 while blocking three shots. McFarland scored twice in both 3-2 wins, tallying 3:41 into overtime on Thursday before scoring the tying goal with 3.1 seconds remaining in regulation on Friday and winning the contest 4:18 into the extra session.
The Greeley native leads the team in goals (10) and points (21) while tying for the top spot in assists (11) and plus/minus (plus-4). He is tied for third in the NE10 in assists, fourth in goals, and tied for fourth in points. McFarland has 10 goals in 18 games thus far after entering the season with eight goals in 46 career outings.
Back home, McFarland played junior hockey for the USPHL’s and WSHL’s Northern Colorado Eagles and high school hockey at Resurrection Christian.
