The USPHL has announced that Connecticut Jr. Rangers forward Elias Holunga has been named the Mid-Atlantic Division Forward of the Week.

Holunga, a 2003 birth year from Golden, helped the Jr. Rangers pick up two important wins over the Hershey Cubs  this past week as they attempt to maintain home-ice advantage for the playoffs.

Holunga had a standout performance on Monday as he recorded his second hat trick of the season. He also registered two assists in Connecticut’s huge win over the Cubs.

Overall, Holunga leads the team with 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) this season.

Back home, Holunga played for the Arvada Hockey Association and Ralston Valley High School
