Fort Collins native, NCYH, RoughRiders alum Stringer takes home weekly USPHL award

The USPHL has announced that Vernal Oilers goalie Evan Stringer is the Northwest Premier Division Goaltender of the Week.

Both the Oilers and the Seattle Totems coaches were greatly impressed by the performance of Stringer on Nov. 19, when he stopped 40 of 42 shots mostly during an extended 5-on-3 Seattle power play (“almost 10-minute stretch of 5v3” according to Oilers GM David Imonti) and held his ground to lead to a 3-2 victory to wrap up the three-game sweep.

In two Premier seasons, Stringer, a 2005-born Fort Collins nativem holds a 16-9-2-0 record with a career save percentage of .918.

During his youth hockey days, Stringer played for NCYH and the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and spent last season in the USPHL Premier with the Northern Colorado Eagles.
