ECHL’s Grizzlies sign Herriman native Mannek for remainder of ’20-21 season
The ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies have signed forward Mason Mannek, who was born and raised in Herriman.
Mannek played with the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks from 2018-21, and in four seasons with Portland, scored 43 goals and 51 assists for 94 points, along with a plus-27 rating.
This season with Portland, he had 10 goals and seven assists in 24 games.
Mannek, who played for the Colorado Thunderbirds during his youth career, is the third current Grizzlies player who was born and raised in Utah, joining forward Jared Pike, who was born in Sandy, and goaltender Garrett Metcalf, who was born in Salt Lake City.
