Colorado natives Friedman, Stukey garner weekly honors from NCDC, USPHL

The NCDC and USPHL have announced their weekly awards, with a pair coming from Colorado.

The NCDC Mountain Division Goaltender of the Week is the Pueblo Bulls’ Noel Friedman, while the USPHL Southeast Elite Forward of the Week is Curren Stukey of the Hampton Roads Whalers.

Friedman (‘05/Denver) was back to old tricks, stopping 42 of 44 shots from the Idaho Falls Spud Kings on Feb. 15. He improved to 6-0 on the season, and he holds a .949 save percentage, only giving up five goals in his last four games.

In Colorado, Friedman played for the Denver Jr. Pioneers and Denver East High School.

Stukey (‘06/Golden) scored two goals and added two assists for four points during a sweep of the Potomac Patriots. He was able to push his season total to 21 points in 26 games.

Back home, Stukey skated for the Arvada Hockey Association, Littleton Hockey Association and Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.
