Broomfield native, RoughRiders, Tigers alum Junkin garners weekly honors from EHL
The EHL has announced that Connecticut RoughRiders goaltender Nicholas Junkin is one of the league’s Top Performers of the week.
Junkin and the RoughRiders split their two-game home series with Team Maryland this past Thursday and Friday.
As for the 2002 native of Broomfield, Junkin got the nod in the victory on Thursday, turning aside all 48 shots he faced for his first career EHL shutout. It was without a doubt Junkin’s best performance to date with the RoughRiders, as he kept one of the top teams from the South Division completely off the board.
Coming up this week, Junkin and the RoughRiders will take on the Express Hockey Club and the Vermont Lumberjacks, as they continue to battle for positioning in the Central Division standings.
During his youth hockey days, Junkin played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and Colorado Springs Tigers.
