Vail native, Colorado youth hockey alum Prowse secures weekly USHL honors
The USHL has announced that Lincoln Stars goalie Will Prowse is the Goaltender of the Week.
A Princeton commit and Vail native, Prowse went 2-1-0-0 for the Stars in three games, posting a 2.02 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage.
He turned aside 33 of 35 shots in Lincoln’s 5-2 win against Fargo on New Year’s Eve, then stopped 29 of 30 shots in a 4-1 win for the Stars against Waterloo on Saturday. Prowse played the second-most minutes of any goalie last week (178), making a total of 100 stops on 106 shots.
Back home, Prowse started playing hockey at Dobson Arena in Vail when he was about five years old. He then played for the Vail Mountaineers, Arvada Hockey Club and Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.
